Mutants & Masterminds - Most Famous Heroes - The New Team

Before going on the next mission the team desperately needed some new members. Two members left after mission one and one died. So it’s back to the show. The audience picked some new members to join. First up was Chill. He was a mutant that had cold powers; unfortunately he could not control them and had to always be in a containment suit. Holy Sister, a demon nun. Her origin has not been revealed but somehow as a baby she demon she was left at a convent and raised by nuns. She has not completely revealed all of her powers, but what is known is that she can go ghost, and shoot lightning. The next new member is Concussion, another powerhouse brick. Then last but not least we had Vixxxen. She was an ex-model/Playboy model. She has mind power over men, she is everything they desire, and the opposite effect on women, everything they hate (I really wish we would have played up that ability more than we did). She also had a whip and some other mind control powers. So the team is all set for mission 2.

Mutants & Masterminds Most Famous Heroes

Back in June I posted a picture from an online RPG I play in called Most Famous Heroes using the Mutants & Masterminds 1.0 rules. Our GM pointed out a couple weeks ago that we have been going for over a year now. That is awesome. The game is set in the Marvel Universe. The concept is we are an American Idol type team that an audience has picked and every move is televised. The original team is pictured in a drawing by yours truly in the 6/29 post. The team was Click (a flying strong heroine), Wonder Man, Grasshopper (armored insect hero), Spider (Spider-Man clone), Painkiller (a gun toting loose cannon on the team), Mindshadow (intangible mind controller), and Shadowflux (magnetic controller).

Mission 1: Terrorizing the Terrorists

The first mission was supposed to be a warm up to go take out a terrorist cell in South America. What no one knew was this terrorist cell was teamed up with AIM and they had a nasty surprise, an Arsenal robot. The teamed swooped in for the attack; Grasshopper was immediately hit with an RPG rocket and killed. The terrorist scientists activated Arsenal and sent it after the heroes. Wonder Man and Click both hit it with not much effect. Shadowflux fried his circuits with one shot. This set off a fail safe program that even AIM didn’t know about, the robot would turn itself into a black hole and wipe out everything. Mindshadow ended up doing a super heroic thing and combining with the computers controlling Arsenal and gave his life to stop it. The remaining heroes mopped up the rest of the terrorists. Shadowflux flew off feeling guilty for setting off the black hole program and inadvertently causing the death of a teammate. After the mission Spider was voted off by the audience for being ineffective, although her and Click remained friends. Click also made sure that Mindshadow’s family was taken care of and that his memory was honored.

With the deaths and team members leaving this made vacancies on the team.

Next up Mission 2.

Mutants and Masterminds' Steve Kenson at Gen Con

I got to talk to Steve Kenson at Gen Con about Mutants and Masterminds. He's great guy if you ever get a chance to meet him. They have some great things coming out next year. A pocket players guide, a players handbook, an adventure, a sourcebook on the Claremont Academy and more. I was wondering when they were going to get some more products out for the game. All this will make a great game even better.

Mutants and Masterminds - Most Famous Heroes

I'm in a Mutants and Masterminds online game called Most Famous Heroes. It's kind of like American Idol meets a super team. Our GM is doind an awesome job. It was a successful mission, although we did end up with two dead, one kicked off the team, and one running off to who knows where, we saved the world from getting sucked into a black hole. Here is a drawing I did of the group that went on the first mission. Let me know what you think.
